Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) represent a legally binding agreement between you (referred to as the “Customer”) and the entity known as Kiffshop (referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our”). Your use of our website (the “Site”) signifies your acceptance and acknowledgment of these Terms. Please read these Terms carefully as they govern your relationship with us.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms without prior notice. Your continued use of the Site after any such changes implies your acceptance of the modified Terms.

Kiffshop Rewards

Kiffshop rewards are offered for every successful paid purchase made through our platform. Please note that Kiffshop rewards will not be awarded for gift card purchases.

Vouchers

Only one voucher can be used per transaction/purchase. If you attempt to use multiple vouchers together, we will remove the discount associated with one of them.

Purchase Price and Product Images

Prices listed on our website are subject to change without notice and include VAT unless explicitly stated otherwise. Product images are for illustrative purposes only.

Shipping and Risk of Loss

We typically process orders within one working day during working hours. Please allow up to 24 hours for order processing.

Our standard shipping process includes dispatching orders within one business day after they are placed, excluding weekends and public holidays. While we strive to dispatch orders on the same day if payment is received before 10 am on weekdays, it is not guaranteed.

You will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number once your order is processed and shipped.

Nationwide shipping to your doorstep is provided. For orders less than R600, there is a flat rate of R99, while orders over R600 enjoy free shipping.

We utilize a courier service and do not rely on South African postal services. Shipping times are estimated to be 2-3 working days to major centers, with an additional 2-3 days for regional centers and a few extra days for outlying areas.

Please be aware that larger items (over 2kg) may require an additional 1-2 days for shipping, and larger or heavier items may incur higher delivery fees. We will inform you of any additional courier charges after your order is placed, particularly when the volumetric weight of a package exceeds 2kg.

All delivery timeframes as mentioned exclude weekends and public holidays.

Kiffshop charges shipping and handling fees for each shipment, unless a special promotion or contract term provides otherwise. These fees include freight charges by the carrier, packaging, and handling.

Please note that delivery times are estimates and we are not liable for delays caused by the courier company.

Please be aware that we cannot ship to certain townships, farms, plots, or extremely remote areas.

Payment is required before shipment, unless credit terms have been arranged in advance. We will not dispatch any item until we receive Proof of Payment, which can be emailed to payments@kiffshop.co.za

We allow a maximum of 3 days to complete order payment, and failure to do so will result in order cancellation.

*Free shipping does not apply to reshipping of warranty repairs/replacements, and large/bulky items may be excluded.

Pricing Information; Availability; Errors and Omissions Disclaimer

All pricing is subject to change. We reserve the right to adjust pricing, product offerings, and services for reasons such as changing market conditions, product discontinuation, product unavailability, manufacturer price changes, and errors in advertisements.

Product availability varies, and we cannot guarantee that all customer orders will be fulfilled. If a product is no longer available, we may offer an alternative (with a partial refund or additional payment, depending on the price difference) or provide a full refund for the out-of-stock item.

For items on backorder from overseas, please be aware that the estimated time of arrival (ETA) is only an estimate. Shipments may occasionally be delayed by customs inspections, which could add a few days to your order processing time.

While we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of information on our website, there may be technical inaccuracies or typographical errors in documents and graphics. All documents and graphics are provided “as is” without any warranty.

Acceptance of an order occurs when we initiate order processing. Completing an order on our site does not constitute order acceptance.

In the event of an error in the listed price of a product, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders placed at the incorrect price. If an order has been confirmed and paid for at the incorrect price, we will promptly issue a credit. We do not guarantee that our prices on other websites or price comparison engines are accurate or up-to-date.

Limitation of Liability

Neither Kiffshop nor its affiliates will be liable for lost profits, business losses, or any consequential, special, indirect, or punitive damages, even if informed of the possibility of such damages, or for any claims by third parties. For any liability related to the purchase of products or services directly provided by Kiffshop or its affiliates, neither Kiffshop nor its affiliates will be liable for an amount exceeding the Rand amount paid by the customer for the specific product(s) or service(s) giving rise to the claim.

We will not be responsible for delays in delivery due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to product unavailability, carrier delays, delays due to fire, severe weather conditions, power failures, labor issues, acts of war, terrorism, general insurrection, acts of God, or government actions.

We will not be held accountable for typographical errors, including errors in instructions, descriptions, prices, or terms.

We will not be liable for missing, damaged, or late package deliveries by the shipper.

Please ensure that you have received your item before scheduling third-party services to your premises. Kiffshop will not be responsible for any fees or call-out costs incurred for electricians, plumbers, handymen, or other third-party services.

Considering the nature of electronic items, Kiffshop will not be held liable for third-party fees or call-out costs in the event of a faulty device. However, full warranty coverage will be honored for faulty items themselves.

Orders; Payment Terms

Payment must be made before shipment, unless credit terms have been arranged in advance. No items will be shipped until we receive Proof of Payment, which can be emailed to payments@kiffshop.co.za or info@kiffshop.co.za

We allow a maximum of 48 hours to complete order payment, and failure to do so will result in order cancellation.

Standard Return of Merchandise (RMA) and Warranty Policy

We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. If you are not completely satisfied, you may return the product to us for a refund, credit, repair, or replacement, subject to the following terms and conditions:

You can request a refund for your purchase (excluding shipping costs) within 7 days of receiving the item. Please ensure that the item is ready for return within 10 days of the delivery date.

When requesting a return, please select the appropriate reason:

  • Changed my mind / Item exchange
  • Faulty on arrival
  • Incorrect item received

All items are covered by a 12-month warranty, unless otherwise stated. Kiffshop will replace, repair, or refund products based on stock availability. Before a warranty claim can be accepted, products will be evaluated by Kiffshop.

If an item returned for assessment is found to be in good working order, a collection and re-shipping fee may apply, starting at R99 per shipment.

Please log your return request in your account’s returns manager.

We do not reimburse shipping fees for items sent to us, but we will cover return shipping costs for items subject to replacement. For items ordered incorrectly, no longer required, or due to a change of mind, there is a collection fee of R99 that will be deducted from the refund once the supplier has credited us. Please note that Kiffshop will only cover return shipping for faulty units within 6 months of purchase; after that, a shipping fee (starting at R99) will apply.

Disputes related to items that are short-shipped or incorrectly shipped will only be considered if reported to Kiffshop within 3 days of delivery or collection.

Refunds are subject to item inspection, and in some cases, items may need to be sent to the supplier for evaluation and testing. This process can take up to 15 working days, and once approved, refunds may take 3 – 5 business days to process.

Returns may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 30% if the item is no longer in brand-new condition or if the item’s seal or packaging has been broken, dented or damaged. Please ensure safe repackaging and include all original product packaging.

Software products are not eligible for credit or refunds once purchased.

After the 6-month period, you will no longer be eligible for a refund, but we may offer replacement or repair based on the outcome of our inspection.

If a warranty sticker is absent from an item, the warranty becomes null and void.

Batteries are covered by warranty, but please note that GEL, AGM, and LEAD ACID batteries have limited cycle runs, typically around 200 cycles, which may be depleted before the end of the warranty. Once the cycles are depleted, the battery is considered to have reached the end of its life and will no longer be covered by warranty.

Kiffshop reserves the right to refuse a refund if the item has been damaged due to misuse, missing parts, or if the product has been altered in any way.

Kiffshop and its affiliates are not responsible for any damage or loss resulting from the use or misuse of products purchased from us.

The warranty becomes invalid, and Kiffshop will not be responsible for damage or injury resulting from:

  • Electricity fluctuations and surges, lightning strikes, building wiring faults, faulty installations, or improper control use
  • Failure to use the product in accordance with operating instructions or general misuse or abuse
  • Damage caused by superior force (vis maior) or infestation by insects or pests
  • Physical damage to the product after leaving the store
  • Damage caused by water or liquid
  • Tampering with the warranty seal
  • Unauthorized repair or tampering with the equipment, use of non-supplied parts, alterations, or modifications to the equipment

Inverters

Please review the following important information regarding batteries at different load shedding frequencies:

What Your Inverter Kit CAN Do:

  • The batteries inside the inverter are rated at 200-250 cycles (high cycle batteries) or 250-300 cycles (deep cycle batteries).
  • Under load shedding at stages 1-4, the average lifespan is approximately 18-24 months.

What Your Inverter Kit CAN’T Do:

The batteries in inverters are designed for backup use only – not for daily charging/discharging.” Given recent Stage 4 and Stage 6 load shedding by Eskom, with multiple load shedding episodes daily, these batteries may reach their lifespan within a few months unless load shedding frequency decreases. Inadequate time to fully recharge between load shedding events can further degrade the batteries.

Does This Affect My Warranty?

Your warranty remains unchanged and covers any manufacturing or material defects in the battery within 12 months. However, keep in mind that battery capacity and runtime depend on the maximum number of cycles (as described above) rather than time.

Please always consider the total load shedding count of 200-250 cycles (high cycle batteries) or 250-300 cycles (deep cycle batteries) when using your inverter kit.

Kiffshop, its affiliates, and officers assume no responsibility if the product fails for any reason. The product is used solely at the user’s risk, including material defects. As a consumable and electrical product, it may malfunction at any time.

Inverters Out of Warranty

Should an inverter be returned for assessment and is out of warranty, an assessment fee of up to R900 including VAT may apply. Quotes for repairs will be provided for approval before any work is carried out.
